Correction to this report
Sep 21, 2026
We had it wrong. This report said monday.com publishes no monthly per-seat price for Basic, Standard or Pro, and the pricing memo told the client to challenge a prospect on it. That was wrong. monday.com's pricing page opens on annual figures, and we read only that view.
It now reads: monday.com publishes both: $9, $12 and $19 per seat/month billed annually, and $12, $14 and $24 per seat/month billed monthly, the second set appearing after the Yearly/Monthly control above the tiers is switched. Re-read Sep 21, 2026. The tier rows, the pricing analysis, the tactic and the battlecard line are corrected to those figures. The annual discount is real — 25% on Basic — and that is the finding that survives.
Executive summary
- 01
All 3 competitors publish a free plan; Kanbanly's own inputs say it has none.
Every agency evaluating Kanbanly can try all 3 rivals at $0 before it ever sees a card form.
- 02
The cheapest paid annual seats are $7 at ClickUp, $9 at monday.com and $10.99 at Asana, all under the $19 flat seat Kanbanly reports.
Kanbanly cannot win a price comparison, so the pitch has to be built on something other than seat cost.
- 03
All 3 leave Enterprise seat pricing as not published and route it to contact sales.
A published, single, no-call price is the one commercial claim none of the 3 can currently make.
- 04
The 3 competitors carry 13,947, 17,202 and 14,210 G2 reviews against the 11 Kanbanly reports.
Proof, not features, is the widest gap, and it is the one Kanbanly can shrink fastest with its 400 seats.
- 05
2 of the 6 published complaint excerpts say the better features sit behind higher-priced tiers.
Kanbanly's single $19 tier answers that complaint directly, but only if the pricing page says so plainly.
Your gap
Kanbanly is behind on everything a buyer uses to reduce risk. All 3 competitors publish a free plan; Kanbanly publishes none. All 3 discount an annual seat below their monthly seat; Kanbanly's inputs say it has no annual discount. Asana publishes a template gallery and an academy with courses and certifications, monday.com publishes a What's New page, and ClickUp publishes a weekly changelog and a public roadmap. Kanbanly's inputs report no template gallery, no certification and no public changelog. On review volume the gap is 13,947, 17,202 and 14,210 reviews against 11.
Your advantage
Kanbanly's price is the only one on the table that a buyer can read once and be done with. All 3 of Asana, monday.com and ClickUp publish an Enterprise tier as not published, so the top of every one of these ladders ends in a sales call. All 3 also price 4 or 5 paid rungs, each with its own feature cut, and 2 of them hide the monthly figure behind a billing control the buyer has to find before the comparison is even like-for-like. Kanbanly's inputs describe 1 tier, $19 per seat per month, flat. 2 of the 6 complaint excerpts, one on Asana and one on monday.com, are about capability locked into higher tiers. A single tier removes that objection instead of arguing with it.
Do this first
Rewrite the Kanbanly pricing page this week around one line: 1 tier, $19 a seat, everything included, no sales call. Put a side-by-side table under it showing that Asana, monday.com and ClickUp all publish Enterprise pricing as not published, with the 3 pricing-page URLs cited.

Praise, quoted
- “I really love the celebrations in Asana, like the unicorn and yeti animations, which align with our organizational value of joyful celebration... I appreciate the simple and easy-to-use user interface, which makes navigation a breeze and is customizable to fit my work style.”
- “Asana has made it simple and easy for us to be on the same page and move our work and organization forward. I've been in a lot of project management tools over my working career and hands down, Asana has been the best to work with.”
Complaint, quoted
- “One thing I'd like to see improved in Asana is the ability to use more complex logic in reporting and dashboards. Right now, I have to manually update date ranges, but it would be amazing to just use terms like 'this fiscal year' or 'in the past thirty days'.”
- “The good AI features are locked behind the Advanced plan, and even then, heavier use of AI Studio for building custom workflows burns through credits that cost extra on top of the subscription, so budgeting for it isn't as simple as just paying for seats.”

Our read
Asana's cheapest paid seat is $10.99 annually, 42% under the $19 flat seat Kanbanly reports. It sells upward: the pricing page reserves goals, portfolios and workload for the $24.99 Advanced tier, and leaves Enterprise as not published. That ladder is also its exposed flank. One published complaint says the better features are locked behind the Advanced plan and that credits cost extra on top of the subscription. An agency of 5 to 30 seats reads that as an unpriced future. Kanbanly's single tier answers it in one line. Asana's own words point at large organisations, 85% of the Fortune 100 and 100,000+ organizations, not at a 12-person studio.
Where Asana beats Kanbanly today
Free entry, a lower paid seat, and proof at a scale Kanbanly cannot match: 13,947 G2 reviews against 11, plus a template gallery and an academy with courses and certifications that Kanbanly's inputs say it does not have.

What their customers say
G2 · 4.7 out of 5 stars · 17,202 reviews (monday AI Work Platform product page)
Praise, quoted
- “What I love most about the monday AI Work Platform is how seamlessly it fits into my daily workflow, rather than feeling like a separate tool I have to keep switching to. Being able to summarize long board updates, draft content directly in docs, and auto-generate task breakdowns within my existing projects saves me a lot of time on repetitive admin work.”
- “I really like the platform's performance and versatility. The UI is excellent, and it integrates smoothly with the different apps we use at work. I especially appreciate having easy access to all our information, including records going back several years.”
Complaint, quoted
- “What I dislike most about the monday AI Work Platform is that its AI features are closely tied to the higher-tier pricing plans, which makes it costly for smaller teams or individual users to access the platform's full potential. Also, when boards become heavily populated with complex automations and large volumes of data, the interface can sometimes lag or feel overly cluttered.”
- “The only issue I've experienced over the years was when we tried to store around 5,000 images on a single board. The platform didn't crash, but we did notice some performance issues due to the large volume of images.”

Our read
monday.com's cheapest paid seat is $9 billed annually, 53% under the $19 flat seat Kanbanly reports. Its Pro tier lands at exactly $19 annually, so Kanbanly's flat monthly price sits at monday.com's third-of-four paid rung. Two things are notable for pricing copy. First, the monthly and annual prices are both published but not both visible at once: the page opens on annual figures, and $12, $14 and $24 appear only after the Yearly/Monthly control is switched. The annual discount is real and large — 25% on Basic — but a buyer comparing monday.com against a flat monthly price will read $9 against $19 unless they find that control, which flatters monday.com by a third. Second, the seat ladder stops at 40 users and turns into "request a quote". A published complaint says capability is closely tied to the higher-tier plans and is costly for smaller teams. monday.com's public breadth is the widest of the 3 in product count: work management plus CRM plus service.

Our read
ClickUp is the cheapest and the broadest of the 3 at once. Its $7 annual seat is 63% under the $19 flat seat Kanbanly reports, and its headline claims it replaces all software. That claim is where it is most exposed. One published complaint says chat requires entering the app; another says finance features are absent and risk and schedule management are limited. Its own pricing page shows the cost of breadth: automation runs are capped at 100 a month on Free. ClickUp also ships in public, with weekly release notes and dated August 2026 entries. Kanbanly's inputs report no public changelog, which is the cheapest of these gaps to close.
Where ClickUp beats Kanbanly today
The lowest published paid seat of the 3 at $7 a year, a Free Forever tier, 14,210 G2 reviews against 11, a template gallery, a public roadmap, and a weekly changelog with entries dated as recently as August 25, 2026.

5 tactics to adapt
- 01
Publish one price and say what the others do not publish
- Why
- Asana, monday.com and ClickUp all show Enterprise as not published, so every one of these ladders ends in a sales call, and on 2 of the 3 the monthly seat price only appears after the buyer finds a billing control.
- How
- Put "1 tier, $19 a seat, no sales call" at the top of the pricing page, then a 4-column table citing asana.com/pricing, monday.com/pricing and clickup.com/pricing next to Kanbanly's single tier.
- Effort
- 1 afternoon
- 02
Sell the ceiling instead of the entry price
- Why
- Kanbanly's $19 flat is above all 3 entry seats but level with monday.com's Pro at $19 and above ClickUp's Business at $12 annually.
- How
- Build a 30-seat, 3-year cost table comparing $19 flat with Asana Advanced at $24.99 and monday.com Pro at $19, and put it on the pricing page under the tier table.
- Effort
- 1 week
- 03
Answer the tier-gating complaint in the buyer's own words
- Why
- 2 of the 6 published complaint excerpts are about capability locked into higher-priced plans, on Asana and on monday.com.
- How
- Add a pricing-page block headed "Nothing is locked in a higher tier" listing every Kanbanly feature as included, and link the 2 G2 review pages as the source of the objection.
- Effort
- 1 afternoon
- 04
Start a public changelog
- Why
- monday.com publishes What's New and ClickUp publishes weekly ClickUpdates with dated entries; Kanbanly's inputs report no public changelog.
- How
- Ship a dated changelog page this week with the last 8 releases, one line each, and link it from the footer and from every release email.
- Effort
- 1 week
- 05
Turn 400 paying seats into review volume
- Why
- Kanbanly reports 11 G2 reviews against 13,947, 17,202 and 14,210 for the 3 competitors, and review count is the widest measurable gap.
- How
- Email every active workspace admin across the 400 seats with a direct G2 review link, in 4 weekly batches, and ask for the 1 thing Kanbanly does that their old tool did not.
- Effort
- 2 weeks
90-day plan
Days 0–30
- Rewrite the pricing page around 1 tier at $19 a seat with no sales call, and publish the comparison table citing the 3 competitor pricing pages.
- Publish a dated changelog page covering the last 8 releases and link it from the footer.
- Add the "Nothing is locked in a higher tier" block, sourced to the Asana and monday.com G2 review pages.
- Send review-request batch 1 of 4 to workspace admins across the 400 paying seats.
- Decide, in writing, whether Kanbanly answers the free plan that all 3 competitors publish, and with what: trial, guarantee, or neither.
Days 31–60
- Publish the 30-seat, 3-year cost table against Asana Advanced at $24.99 and monday.com Pro at $19.
- Ship a template gallery for agency work; Asana and ClickUp both publish one and Kanbanly's inputs report none.
- Send review-request batches 2 and 3, and publish the first 5 quotes with the reviewer's own wording untouched.
- Write 2 comparison pages, Kanbanly against ClickUp and Kanbanly against monday.com, using only published prices and tier names.
Days 61–90
- Re-read all 3 pricing pages and update every number and every not published line, with the new read date on the page.
- Send review-request batch 4 and report the new Kanbanly review count against the 11 at the start.
- Publish an agency onboarding guide, the narrow answer to ClickUp's "Software to replace all software" claim.
- Test 1 annual option against the flat $19, since all 3 competitors price an annual seat below their monthly seat and Kanbanly's inputs report no annual discount.

“Starter is $10.99 a seat, cheaper than your $19”
You answer
$10.99 is Starter. Goals, portfolios and workload — the reason an agency buys a portfolio tool — start at Advanced, $24.99 a seat annually. Compare that number to ours, not the entry one.
The fact under it
Asana's pricing page lists Starter at $10.99 annual and Advanced at $24.99 annual per user/month, with goals, portfolios and workload listed as Advanced plan features.

Our read
Where to concede: If they need SAML, SCIM provisioning or capacity planning signed off by procurement this quarter, Asana's Enterprise tier answers that and a single $19 tier does not. Say so, ask to be kept for the next team, and stop selling.
Against monday.com
They say
“Basic is $9 a seat”
You answer
$9 is annual, and it is Basic. Workflows, timeline and Gantt start at Standard, $12. Pro is exactly $19 — the same as our flat seat, with a 40-user ceiling above it.
The fact under it
monday.com's pricing page publishes Basic at $9, Standard at $12 and Pro at $19 per seat/month billed annually, and its enterprise FAQ says: "If you want to sign up more than 40 users, you can request a quote."
monday.com/pricing · read Sep 14, 2026 · https://monday.com/pricingThey say
“Pay monthly if annual does not suit you”
You answer
Ask which of the two prices they were quoted. monday.com's page opens on annual figures, so the $9 most buyers repeat is a year committed up front; paying monthly is $12 on the same tier, a third more. Compare a flat $19 against $12, not against $9.
The fact under it
monday.com's pricing page publishes Basic at $9, Standard at $12 and Pro at $19 per seat/month billed annually. Switching the Yearly/Monthly control above the tiers republishes the same 3 tiers at $12, $14 and $24 per seat/month billed monthly. Read Sep 21, 2026.

“4.7 out of 5 across 17,202 reviews”
You answer
True, and we will not pretend to match it. Read what the smaller teams in those reviews say they cannot reach.
The fact under it
A published G2 complaint reads: "What I dislike most about the monday AI Work Platform is that its AI features are closely tied to the higher-tier pricing plans, which makes it costly for smaller teams or individual users to access the platform's full potential."

Our read
Where to concede: If they want work management, CRM and service from one vendor on one invoice, monday.com sells three product lines and we sell one. That is a real answer to a real need; do not argue with it.
Against ClickUp
They say
“Software to replace all software”
You answer
Ask which software, specifically. Their own reviewers name the parts it does not replace.
The fact under it
A published G2 complaint reads: "ClickUp lacks native finance‑management features, offers only basic risk‑management capabilities, and its schedule‑management functionality is not as..." (quote truncated by the source page).

“$7 a seat, the cheapest on your list”
You answer
$7 is Unlimited billed annually; monthly is $10, and Business — dashboards, timeline views, unlimited proofing — is $12 annually and $19 monthly, which is our flat price.
The fact under it
ClickUp's pricing page lists Unlimited at $10 monthly and $7 annual, and Business at $19 monthly and $12 annual, per user/month.
clickup.com/pricing · read Sep 14, 2026 · https://clickup.com/pricingThey say
“trusted by more than 20 million users worldwide”
You answer
That line is the seller's own description on its G2 listing, not an audited number. Worth naming once, politely, when it is used on you.
The fact under it
The seller-authored G2 description says ClickUp is "trusted by more than 20 million users worldwide", from self-employed individuals up to enterprises.

Where to concede: If they want one workspace for docs, chat, tasks and a public roadmap, ClickUp ships all of it and publishes a weekly changelog. On breadth, they win. Move the conversation to the one job you do better, or leave.

Our read
All 3 share one packaging shape: a free tier to remove the first decision, an entry seat that is the number they advertise, a middle tier where the features an agency actually needs begin, and an Enterprise tier with no published price. All 3 advertise the annual-discounted seat as the headline figure, and the monthly number a buyer would actually pay is 22% to 43% higher on every tier we checked. Your $19 is not the most expensive seat on this table — Asana's Advanced is $24.99, ClickUp's Business is $19 monthly and monday.com's Pro is $24 monthly — but it is the only one a buyer can read once and be finished with.
The one move the evidence supports
Keep $19 and reprice the page, not the product: publish $19 as one tier with everything included and no sales call, directly beside the 3 competitor Enterprise rows that read not published.
The argument against it
Every one of the 3 opens with a free plan and you open with a card, so a flat $19 loses the evaluations that never reach a conversation. If the next quarter's signups stay flat, the honest test is a free tier or a published annual price — both of which all 3 competitors use and your inputs say you do not.

All 3 pricing pages share the same 2 moves: a $0 tier at the bottom and an Enterprise tier whose seat price is not published. They differ at the entry seat, $7 annually at ClickUp, $9 at monday.com and $10.99 at Asana. All 3 also publish a monthly seat as well as an annual one — $13.49 at Asana, $10 at ClickUp and $12 at monday.com on the cheapest paid tier — but the annual figure is the one each page shows first, so the advertised number is 22% to 43% below what a buyer paying monthly would actually pay. Kanbanly's own input, 1 tier at $19 a seat a month with no free plan and no annual discount, sits above all 3 entry seats and level with monday.com's Pro at $19 annually, below its $24 monthly.
